We are all looking forward to Labor Day Weekend. It gives us a 3-day weekend to be outside and say good bye to Summer! But where did Labor Day come from. It came from one guy named Peter McGuire that thought all workers with a trade should have the right to a 8 hr work day. This would give each worker 8 hrs of work, 8hrs of play, and 8 hrs of sleep to make up their day! Once the movement was passed to protect the workers it was declared Labor Day!!
So when planning your holiday weekend, use your EHR System and Practice Management System to your fullest advantage. Use the E- Prescribing module to approve scripts right from the comfort of your home. If you need to check the patients chart first, no problem simply log in to your EHR System from home and pull up the patient chart.
Let your EHR system help you get back to whatever activities you have planned for your Labor Day Weekend!
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has detailed the terms for FFP (Federal Financial Participation) of up to 90% matched funds.
Three requirements must be met in order to be eligible for FFP matched funds:
1. Administration of Medicaid incentive payments to Medicaid EPs and eligible hospitals;
2. Oversight of the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program, including routine tracking of meaningful use attestations and reporting mechanisms;
3. Pursuit of initiatives that encourage the adoption of certified EHR technology for the promotion of health care quality and the electronic exchange of health information.
The full text of the letter sent to Medicaid Administrators for your state is located on the CMS website.

As a women's health provider, you face two unique sets of challenges... You are responsible for everything from long-term preventive care to managing acute and chronic health conditions. Intergy EHR by Sage, in conjunction with Intergy by Sage practice management, provides the tools you need to help you manage your business and care for your patients more effectively.Contact us today for more information or to schedule your free consultation.
One of the greatest advantages we have with the Sage Intergy product is the ability to convert data from MENDS, Navigator, or other practice management systems into Intergy. Our existing MENDS and Navigator clients have the option of converting demographics, financial information, appointments, and setup. A typical conversion is broken down into several steps as follows:
Setup conversion - Maintenance codes are mapped, consolidated, and converted into Intergy. Once this information exists in the system, a practice may begin editing these codes for live use.
Test financial conversion - After setup is complete, a backup is taken. Next, a test run of demographics, financial data, and appointments is converted. Data is checked for accuracy and balancing, and data can be left on the Intergy system so that users can practice using test data.
Final conversion - The database is restored back to the post-setup backup so that the maintenance codes and all user edits of those are restored. Test financial data is removed. The final cut of data is retrieved and converted, resulting in the final data being placed on the system.
Bradford-Scott Data Corporation has converted dozens of customers to the Intergy system. Some came from MENDS or Navigator, and others came from a different practice management system. I do many of these conversions and I work hard to ensure your conversion is accurate. I hope to see you on my conversion schedule soon.
Tonight we're going to our first Symphony on the Prairie. It's Michael Jackson night, so not only do we get to see a fantastic orchestra playing MJ songs, there is also a professional MJ impersonator singing. My kids are both violin players and my son is a big MJ fan, so it should be a good time. Oh, and did I mention you can bring beverages in?
A successful symphony relies on many individual people and instruments working together. Bradford-Scott Data Corporation has been successful for similar reasons. Our Intergy, Intergy EHR, MENDS, and Navigator customers' success depends on us working together. As a value added reseller, we have team members that provide training, consulting, programming, system administration, network administration, hardware support, and hardware repair.
Bradford-Scott's best-in-class service and support keeps getting better. We work together to orchestrate the finest solutions for our customers. To find out how Bradford-Scott can provide you with Intergy electronic health records and practice management, contact us through this blog.
This week has been the hottest week yet this summer. Temps are in the 90s and heat index is in the 100s! My kids are both in cross country and they've had to run in some very warm temperatures. So far I've run each evening this week and I plan to do it again tonight. It's a great way to lose weight (or pass out)!
It's been a hot summer for Bradford-Scott Data Corporation as well. Sales of Sage Intergy v6.0 and Sage Intergy EHR have been coming in at record levels. The 'big board' where we keep track of new clients, data conversions, and electronic health records implementations is full. It's not uncommon for our service and support staff to be working with multiple new customers.

Let's face it. In order for a doctor's office to maximize its efficiency, patients have to show up on-time for their appointments. Traditionally, an office would pay an employee to manually call patients, reminding them of their upcoming appointments. Now, however, with Intergy Practice Management (PM), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), or Enterprise Medical Software systems, Bradford-Scott Data Corporation offers the PhoneTree Patient messaging system which can do this calling automatically.
In the PhoneTree patient messaging system, an office not only has an automatic way to reduce no-shows, but also has a pain-free collection module. Quite simply, the PhoneTree messaging system pays for itself in the time that employees don't have to spend doing mundane tasks, usually in just a matter of months.
For more information about PhoneTree other Indiana Enterprise Medical Software Solutions, please call Mike Bessignano at Bradford-Scott Data Corporation @ 317-713-2065.
Customer comments from a large Pediatric Office having an interface from the Bradford Scott Data Computer system. Chirp is great! We can check out kids immunization records. We consistently get patients that do not know or keep a list with them of their immunizations so we look them up on CHIRP to find them. Immunizations that our office performs are updated to the CHIRP data base and this helps other Doctors in the area to check on the patient's records, preventing duplicate or missing immunizations the children need.
If you are a physician who can benefit from a Practice Management System / EHR system that will interface with CHIRP, then checkout Bradford Scott Data Corporation located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
We handle the sale, installation, training and support for EHR and Practice Management systems interfacing with CHIRP.
Service is our highest quality with a 2009 customer rating of 9.52 out of possible 10.
On July 14th 2010 The Indianapolis Star (INDYSTAR.COM) had an article from the associated press concerning the Federal government offering cash incentives to purchase Electronic Health Records.
It states “ Starting next year, doctors’ offices can get federal money to help defray the costs of the systems”. It further states “Providers who don’t comply by the year 2015 will face cuts in Medicare payments.”
The government enticement and deadline may cause Doctors to make hasty decisions and choose an inferior, little support, or over priced system.
If you are a physician thinking about purchasing EHR then checkout Bradford Scott Data Corporation. Centered in the Midwest in Indianapolis Indiana.
We handle the sale, installation, training and support for EHR and Practice Management systems.

My husband & I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary last Sunday! We have never been happier, and are truly excited to see what life holds for us! Thankfully the last year has had far more ups than downs, but it was great to know that my husband was there for me through it all.

I've done a lot of work this year with CHIRP. CHIRP is the Children and Hoosiers Immunization Registry Program. Its purpose is to create a central repository for immunization records for children. This provides a great information exchange for providers, parents, schools, etc. It also prevents re-immunization due to lost or forgotten immunization records.
All of our practice management products work with CHIRP. MENDS and Navigator have a built-in interface to send information to CHIRP based on what has been posted since the last send. Sage Intergy has an immunization report that can be printed to a file using date ranges. This file can be used in many states that have an immunization registry.
Bradford-Scott Data Corporation along with Sage Intergy, MENDS, and Navigator, can make your interaction with an immunization registry much more efficient. If you'd like to learn more about CHIRP, Intergy by Sage, Sage Intergy EHR, or any of our other products, contact us at 317-713-2065.
Last night my son and I went to the NBA draft party at Conseco Fieldhouse. We got VIP tickets courtesy of the Pacers and they put on an excellent party. Besides mingling with players and watching the draft on the (loud) big-screens, we got to eat. And eat. And eat. We were treated to cajun turkey breast, BBQ sandwiches, cole slaw, potato salad, pasta salad, chips, cookies, and brownies, as well as soda and beer. All on the tab of the Pacers! Paul George is the newest Pacer member. Hopefully he'll do well.
What does this have to do with Bradford-Scott Data Corporation? We have a lot of Pacer ticket holders here. So between our practice management and electronic medical records training classes, telephone support, and new EMR installations, we root for the Pacers.

Tomorrow I'm headed to the Queen City, Cincinnati. I'm taking the kids to an outdoor rock concert during which it should be a comfortable 95 degrees (with a 103 degree heat index). I haven't decided whether I'm staying to watch the screaming 'tweens or heading over to watch the thoroughbreds at River Downs.
Speaking of Ohio, it is the state in which we have the highest adoption rate of electronic medical records. Of our four Intergy by Sage practice management clients, 100% of them are either live with or headed toward EMR adoption! Our Ohio EMR clients aren't messing around. In fact, our first Intergy EHR client was from Ohio and they have been using OB GYN EMR for quite some time.
Ohio is leading the charge, but Bradford-Scott Data Corporation also implements Illinois EMR, Kentucky EMR, Michigan EMR, and Indiana EMR. If you're in one of those states, we want to be your EHR vendor. To learn more information about Intergy by Sage and Sage Intergy EHR, click on the links. Or give us a ring at 317-713-2065.
This week we all took a training class on the new release of Intergy by Sage and Sage Intergy EHR version 6.0. This release will be available soon and promises to offer many enhancements and new features. Each year Sage invests millions of dollars into the research and development of their Intergy products. The result of that spending will be apparent in version 6.0.
In the practice management and EMR demo we saw, many enhancements were evident. Both products address fulfillment of PQRI measures. The electronic health records product was enhanced to continue CCHIT certification. And the Intergy Practice Portal has been enhanced to allow for secure message attachments for improved patient communication.
In future blogs I'll go over some of the specific changes available in Sage Intergy and Sage Intergy EHR. Until then, check out Bradford-Scott's web pages by clicking the links above. If you don't yet have these products, there's no better time than the present to upgrade. Give us a ring or leave me a comment on this blog.
