Friday, July 16, 2010 by Thomas Bradley
Bradford-Scott Data Corporation, a premier Indiana Electronic Medical Records (EMR) vendor is proud to announce a state-of-the-art Remote Monitor System (RMS) for its Intergy Enterprise Medical Software clients.  With RMS, a doctor's office now has peace-of-mind knowing that their Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Practice Management (PM) systems are running error-free, all-the-time.

Unlike most other Enterprise Medical Software products, Bradford-Scott's Sage Intergy Enterprise Medical Software solution provides real-time remote system monitoring with the built-in Remote Monitor System (RMS).

With RMS, not only does Bradford-Scott monitor each of their client's medical billing systems, proactively looking for critical errors that could lead to unnecessary system downtime, but also they provide continuous software updates, ensuring that their clients always have the latest, most advanced medical billing software available.

To find out more about this sophisticated Indiana EMR solution, call Mike Bessignano at Bradford-Scott Data Corporation at 317-713-2065 for an EMR Demo.

PhoneTree Practice Management Automated Reminder System

Friday, July 16, 2010 by Thomas Bradley
Let's face it.  In order for a doctor's office to maximize its efficiency, patients have to show up on-time for their appointments.  Traditionally, an office would pay an employee to manually call patients, reminding them of their upcoming appointments.  Now, however, with Intergy Practice Management (PM), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), or Enterprise Medical Software systems, Bradford-Scott Data Corporation offers the PhoneTree Patient messaging system which can do this calling automatically.

In the PhoneTree patient messaging system, an office not only has an automatic way to reduce no-shows, but also has a pain-free collection module.  Quite simply, the PhoneTree messaging system pays for itself in the time that employees don't have to spend doing mundane tasks, usually in just a matter of months.

For more information about PhoneTree other Indiana Enterprise Medical Software Solutions, please call Mike Bessignano at Bradford-Scott Data Corporation @ 317-713-2065.

Service and Support

Thursday, June 24, 2010 by Mike Beer
Sure, Intergy by Sage and Sage Intergy EHR are two of the best products available.  At Bradford-Scott, our mission is to provide the best service and support for those products.  We know that getting a new enterprise medical software or electronic health records system is a big change.  That's why we offer extensive training and unlimited telephone support.

Each year we measure our customer satisfaction.  In 2009 we sent surveys to each of our clients.  The results were overwhelming, and we received a 9.52 score (on a scale from 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest).  This was our best score to date and represented an increase over last year.

Bradford-Scott Data Corporation prides itself on providing the best support for or Indiana EMR, Ohio EMR, Illinois EMR, Michigan EMR, and Kentucky EMR customers.    This was explained to me on the day I was hired 18 years ago and it's still true.  If you're already a customer, you know.  If you're not yet a customer, now you know what you're missing.

Cheers,
Mike

Save Time with Electronic Medical Records

Thursday, January 7, 2010 by Kathy Reinhardt
Indianapolis is in the middle of our first big winter storm and the drive into work was nothing but start, stop, and slide.  For most of the people at Bradford-Scott Data Corporation, it took about 2 or 3 times their normal drive-in time.

That made me think of the differences between paper charting and electronic medical records.  Paper charting, messages, and the hunt for the missing chart all add up to more time and more cost to you as the physician.

Make the change to Electronic Medical Records (EMR) with Intergy by SAGE and watch the changes unfold in your practice:
  • Charts are available in seconds
  • Flowsheets show trends
  • Patient health reminders
  • Tasking messages, results and sign-offs can all be done with a few simple clicks and are documented for the patient chart
  • Electronic prescriptions
Suddenly, your office is becoming more efficient, patient care and follow-up is improved and your reimbursement level is increasing as all findings, treatment plans are documented and checked for coding levels in the Medcin database.

Not only is Sage Intergy EHR V5.5 is CCHIT 2008 certified, templates are available for over 25 specialties that can also be customized for your workflow - including Cardiology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, OB-GYN as well as Family Practice.

As a Channel Partner for SAGE, we offer Intergy EMR, Intergy Practice Management along with Enterprise medical software capability and Practice Analytic software.  Give Bradford-Scott Data Corporation a call and let our medical consulting staff get you started!

Freezing

Monday, January 4, 2010 by Mike Beer
Today I watched two examples of freezing weather.  After the Colts played in -1 windchill and on a snow-covered field in Buffalo, I took my kids to the skate park.  They stayed out in the cold for over an hour, I don't know how they did it.

So if that's what's cold, here's what's hot:  Sales of Intergy by Sage and Intergy EHR by Sage.  In December we added several new clients and upgraded some long-time customers.  One longtime client has used our medical claims software for years but has decided to upgrade to the full suite of Intergy products.

Another customer is a physician medical billing service.  With the enterprise medical software version of Intergy by Sage, this practice will be able to better manage their clients and provide them with a better solution for billing, tracking, and follow up.

Intergy by Sage and Intergy EHR by Sage are selling like hotcakes.  It's time for you to get your name on the list.  Give Bradford-Scott Data Corporation a call at 317-713-2065 or fill out the form beside this blog.

Cheers,
Mike

The Big 10 basketball season began last week with Purdue winning its first game.  Could this be the year for the Boilers?  2010 is going to be a big year for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is to gain government incentives for implementing electronic health records (EHR).  Here are 10 reasons to implement Intergy EHR by Sage now:

Physician Medical Billing

Thursday, December 10, 2009 by Mike Beer
Great news!  One of Bradford-Scott's largest physician medical billing services has decided to upgrade to our Intergy by Sage medical billing system.  This customer has been with us as long as I have, and they've been highly successful in meeting the needs of several physicians in Indiana.

After reaching expert status with their current medical claims software, this company decided they could better serve their customers by upgrading.  Intergy's Enterprise medical software will allow them to more quickly and efficiently bill, apply payments, search and administer the system.

Whether you're a billing service or an individual practice, we'd like you to check out our medical office billing software.  For more information about Intergy by Sage or our electronic medical records software Intergy EHR by Sage, click these links, fill out the form beside this blog, or call us at 317-713-2065.

Big Freeze

Wednesday, December 9, 2009 by Mike Beer
Our lucky run of good weather has come to an end.  After spending three Saturdays in November golfing, today brought snow, ice, and the formidable wintry mix.  But will that plus a 1-degree wind chill keep me from going to the Purdue game tonight?  I don't think so.

Since I've begin working here we've had many of our medical software Indiana clients in Lafayette, IN.  One of the first customer visits I ever made was a customer who purchased our medical claims software long before I began working here 17 years ago.  Later I was able to introduce some of our other support techs to the wonders of Purdue University while in town for an enterprise medical software client.  If I remember right, I helped this customer interface with their hospital information systems and then ate at the Wabash Yacht Club later.

Times have changed a little since then.  Bradford-Scott Data Corporation now has a new suite of products, including Intergy by Sage and Intergy EHR by Sage.  We offer new features such as electronic prescriptions, medical charting software, and electronic medical records software.  Our product line is tops, and I expect nothing less from Purdue's basketball team this year.

Golden

Wednesday, November 4, 2009 by Mike Beer
This is my golden blog!  Yep, number 50, and the fourth most in the company.  If you've been following along, you've probably seen me bring up most holidays, personal events, my kids, etc.  One thing I've usually tried to drive home is the fact that Bradford-Scott Data Corporation is the best is the best vendor of medical office billing software and EMR systems in the Midwest.

To recap, I've talked about how Intergy by Sage and Intergy EHR by Sage can provide your office with features such as:
  • Medical Claims Software for nearly any physician medical billing scenario
  • Electronic Prescriptions via electronic medical records system or standalone
  • Enterprise medical software option for multi-practice systems
  • Interfaces with hospital information systems, labs, orders, etc.
And the most important factors that should go into your decision to
work with Bradford-Scott are our service and support.  For over 25 years we've been servicing medical offices in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan and Kentucky.  Our service is tops.  Our support is golden!

American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and EMR/EHR

Friday, October 30, 2009 by Thomas Bradley
Congress passed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and President Barak Obama signed it into law in 2009.  Among other things, this bill provides around 60 Billion potential dollars split between the implementation of certified electronic health record (EHR/EMR) technology in particular and health information technology in general.  The bulk is slated to go towards EHR implementations while the rest is slated for general health information technology.

Even though the funding has been appropriated, as of now, the Department of Health and Human Resources has yet to set the specific guidelines as to who is eligible for funding and how doctors and their practices should go about meeting compliancy standards.

However, know that the Stimulus Act provides funding for individual physicians up to $44,000.00 over 4 years.  Those individuals choosing not to adopt EHR systems will be penalized starting in the year 2015.  At this point there will be a 1 percent reduction in Medicare payments.  By 2018, the penalties increase to 3 percent.

Bradford-Scott clients who have been thinking about upgrading to an EHR system or an Enterprise Medical Software system should do so now rather than later.  The writing is on the proverbial wall that all physicians will be forced to implement an EHR system.  What's more the earlier a physician adopts the technology, the more likely he or she is to secure a good place in line to secure stimulus money and the more likely he or she is going to be able to offset a large portion of the total purchase cost of an EMR/EHR system.

If yo are interested in taking full advantage of this once-in-a-career opportunity, please contact Bradford-Scott Data Corp. today at 317-713-2065 and ask for a sales consultant.

Pacers

Wednesday, October 28, 2009 by Mike Beer
Tonight is opening night of a new season for the Indiana Pacers!  I've been a season-ticket holder for about 15 years.  Not only do I get to root for the home team, I also get to see talent from other cities try to match up with the Pacers.

Bradford-Scott Data Corporation is also the home team.  While other vendors may offer you their EMR systems, they cannot offer you home-team support and service like we can.  Bradford-Scott also has hospital information systems and physician medical billing services as clients.  Without local support, these customers would be like the visiting team coming to town.

Just as the Pacers are rebuilding for future greatness, Bradford-Scott has been reloading its product offerings.  We now offer exciting products like Intergy and Intergy EHR by Sage, electronic prescriptions, and enterprise medical software.  If you're located in Indiana or its surrounding states, we are your home team.  Check us out to see what we can offer by replying to this blog or giving us a call at 317-713-2065.

Go Pacers!
Cheers,
Mike

What Has Happened to Health Care Reform???

Friday, October 2, 2009 by Dwight Baxter

Health care reform was a complicated issue. We all knew that. The goals seemed clear in the beginning, bring down the cost of effective health care and improve the quality. It is a fact that if things continued as they have the last ten years, most Americans not eligible for the currently run government plan Medicare, would be unable to afford insurance coverage. At the same time Medicare and Medicaid are going to either bankrupt the country or disappear. It seemed obvious to even the most free-enterprise worshiping conservatives something had to be done.
The President asked the Congress to take on this task with simple guidelines, maybe too simple. I am afraid as the story has developed the status quo seems to be prevailing. Every special interest group in this and other countries has lobbied for or outright bought favor. The insurance industry has made sure they will not have government sponsored competition. The Senate and House members have proposed every possible amendment to give their special interests an advantage.
Every group with a stake in health care reform has gone on the record to say they endorse the idea "if done in the right way." It is not had to understand they mean "the most advantageous way for us." A few minor changes may occur but I doubt the costs will do anything but raise. It is depressing.
If health care doesn't change, medical practices must change. EHR will be one thing that can help your office with costs. Contact Bradford-Scott Data Corp. for information about Electronic Health Records. You can find us on the web at www.bradfordscott.com or call us at 317-713-2065

Intergy Practice Management by SAGE

Friday, October 2, 2009 by Kathy Reinhardt
Having worked as a billing supervisor in a large practice and spent many hours documenting "how-to's" for my staff on another medical office billing software system, I would have to say that Intergy Practice Management software is an accountant's delight.  The system has specific steps for recoupments, unapplied credits that eliminate errors and provides a complete audit trail.  Some additional time saving features include the following:

  • Administrative charges - ex NSF, No Show or Medicare Records
  • Pre-Collection of copays
  • Billing, Closing day and month end steps are simple
  • Claims Tracker - get the bird's eye view on your electronic claims, click to correct errors
  • Electronic Remittance Advice auto-posting
  • Electronic Statements and Collection Letters
  • Enterprise functionality - available for billing services and MSO's

Having everything available at your fingertips is a great time saver and lets you focus on collecting money for the practice!

When you are ready, add the electronic health record (EHR) for a complete integrated package.

Sound like you should make the change to Intergy?  Let Bradford-Scott Data Corporation help you on your way!

Electronic Medical Records System - do you have all the pieces of the puzzle?

Friday, October 2, 2009 by Kathy Reinhardt
Have you been looking for a medical software system that fits your office?

There are many benefits to using a product that combines practice management (medical billing software) with electronic health records into one database.

While you can have separate systems and utilize the import/export features of an interface, you must also face the fact that you may not have all the functionality available as you would in a single database solution.  You may also incur additional hardware and software costs to support separate systems.

Selecting Intergy by SAGE, you have all the pieces of the puzzle in one database:
  • Practice Management Billing
  • Electronic Health Record
  • Electronic Prescriptions
  • Enterprise Medical Software
and don't forget the last piece of the puzzle - Vendor Support!

One of the reasons that physicians are hesitating to implement an EHR solution is that stories still circulate about failed implementations.

Why should it be different for me, you ask?

Select the vendor who believes in excellence in customer service and support, who has been in business over 25 years using this motto - Bradford-Scott Data Corporation

Moving to a new system does require change, however, with Bradford-Scott Data Corporation there to provide an experienced hand to help you on your way, there's no reason to wait!

Homecoming

Friday, October 2, 2009 by Mike Beer
Many high school and college football teams are having their homecoming game over the next few weekends.  We went to Pike's homecoming game last weekend and I'm going to Purdue's homecoming tomorrow!  I tried to apply the word homecoming to a medical software system environment and here's what I came up with:

Bradford-Scott Data Corporation is your home team in the Midwest.  If you're in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio or Kentucky, you want to get your physician billing software from the home team.  There are other medical claims software and EMR vendors in other places nationwide.  But can they provide you with local service?  Do you talk to the same team members each time and establish a personal relationship with them?  Can they drive to your site in the event of system problems?  Bradford-Scott can.

Our enterprise medical software product, Intergy by Sage is second to none.  And as far as EMR systems go, Intergy EHR by Sage v5.5 is as good as it gets.  It's CCHIT certified, highly customizable, and offers electronic prescriptions as well as several other advantages to your office.  Best of all, Bradford-Scott will team up with you to make your installation the best it can be!  So think local, buy local, and of course drink local :)

Cheers and Boiler Up!
