PhoneTree Practice Management Automated Reminder System

Friday, July 16, 2010 by Thomas Bradley
Let's face it.  In order for a doctor's office to maximize its efficiency, patients have to show up on-time for their appointments.  Traditionally, an office would pay an employee to manually call patients, reminding them of their upcoming appointments.  Now, however, with Intergy Practice Management (PM), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), or Enterprise Medical Software systems, Bradford-Scott Data Corporation offers the PhoneTree Patient messaging system which can do this calling automatically.

In the PhoneTree patient messaging system, an office not only has an automatic way to reduce no-shows, but also has a pain-free collection module.  Quite simply, the PhoneTree messaging system pays for itself in the time that employees don't have to spend doing mundane tasks, usually in just a matter of months.

For more information about PhoneTree other Indiana Enterprise Medical Software Solutions, please call Mike Bessignano at Bradford-Scott Data Corporation @ 317-713-2065.

Interface with CHIRP

Friday, July 16, 2010 by Tim Trissel

Customer comments from a large Pediatric Office having an interface from the Bradford Scott Data Computer system. Chirp is great! We can check out kids immunization records.  We consistently get patients that do not know or keep a list with them of their immunizations so we look them up on CHIRP to find them. Immunizations that our office performs are updated to the CHIRP data base and this helps other Doctors in the area to check on the patient's records, preventing duplicate or missing immunizations the children need.

If you are a physician who can benefit from a Practice Management System / EHR system that will interface with CHIRP, then checkout Bradford Scott Data Corporation located in Indianapolis, Indiana.

We handle the sale, installation, training and support for EHR and Practice Management systems interfacing with CHIRP.

Service is our highest quality with a 2009 customer rating of 9.52 out of possible 10.

Doctor Incentives to Purchase EHR

Friday, July 16, 2010 by Tim Trissel

On July 14th 2010 The Indianapolis Star (INDYSTAR.COM) had an article from the associated press concerning the Federal government offering cash incentives to purchase Electronic Health Records.

It states “ Starting next year, doctors’ offices can get federal money to help defray the costs of the systems”. It further states “Providers who don’t comply by the year 2015 will face cuts in Medicare payments.”

The government enticement and deadline may cause Doctors to make hasty decisions and choose an inferior, little support, or over priced system.

If you are a physician thinking about purchasing EHR then checkout Bradford Scott Data Corporation. Centered in the Midwest in Indianapolis Indiana.

We handle the sale, installation, training and support for EHR and Practice Management systems.

Service is our highest quality with a 2009 customer rating of 9.52 out of possible 10.

Final Rules for EHR Adoption

Thursday, July 15, 2010 by Mike Beer
It's a historic week for EHR adoption!  On Tuesday, July 13, 2010, the final regulations for EHR meaningful use were released.  The original 25 proposed objectives have been broken down into 15 core objectives and 10 menu objectives.  To display meaningful use of EMR adoption and qualify for CMS incentive money, practices must meet all 15 core objectives, and choose from the 10 menu objectives.  (source: www.hitechanswers.net)

To encourage more participation, required benchmarks have been relaxed for stage one compliance.  This means that once you implement electronic health records, you can qualify for incentive money even more quickly.

Bradford-Scott Data Corporation is your local vendor for Indiana EMR, Ohio EMR, Illinois EMR, Kentucky EMR, and Michigan EMR.  To see a Sage Intergy EHR demo or to find out more information, click on the links above or call us at 317-713-2065.

ARRA Program

Friday, June 25, 2010 by Mike Beer
If you haven't heard of the ARRA Program yet, you're probably in the minority.  ARRA stands for the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act.  Full details can be found on the Bradford-Scott website, but here's a quick summary:

President Obama initiated the ARRA program to aid physician offices in EHR adoption.  With the adoption of electronic health records, practices can benefit from rebates by showing meaningful use.  By demonstrating successful use of electronic prescriptions and some other criteria, your practice can receive Medicare incentives that can ultimately help pay the cost of moving to EHR.

Bradford-Scott Data Corporation is proud to be the most successful Indiana EHR provider, and we also have several Ohio EHR and Kentucky EHR customers.  For an EHR demo or to find out more about the software and services we offer, you can check the Sage Intergy EHR information on our website or reply to this post.  Here's to your future success in the world of electronic medical records.

Cheers,
Mike

Service and Support

Thursday, June 24, 2010 by Mike Beer
Sure, Intergy by Sage and Sage Intergy EHR are two of the best products available.  At Bradford-Scott, our mission is to provide the best service and support for those products.  We know that getting a new enterprise medical software or electronic health records system is a big change.  That's why we offer extensive training and unlimited telephone support.

Each year we measure our customer satisfaction.  In 2009 we sent surveys to each of our clients.  The results were overwhelming, and we received a 9.52 score (on a scale from 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest).  This was our best score to date and represented an increase over last year.

Bradford-Scott Data Corporation prides itself on providing the best support for or Indiana EMR, Ohio EMR, Illinois EMR, Michigan EMR, and Kentucky EMR customers.    This was explained to me on the day I was hired 18 years ago and it's still true.  If you're already a customer, you know.  If you're not yet a customer, now you know what you're missing.

Cheers,
Mike

Ohio EMR

Friday, June 18, 2010 by Mike Beer
Tomorrow I'm headed to the Queen City, Cincinnati.  I'm taking the kids to an outdoor rock concert during which it should be a comfortable 95 degrees (with a 103 degree heat index).  I haven't decided whether I'm staying to watch the screaming 'tweens or heading over to watch the thoroughbreds at River Downs.

Speaking of Ohio, it is the state in which we have the highest adoption rate of electronic medical records.  Of our four Intergy by Sage practice management clients, 100% of them are either live with or headed toward EMR adoption!  Our Ohio EMR clients aren't messing around.  In fact, our first Intergy EHR client was from Ohio and they have been using OB GYN EMR for quite some time.

Ohio is leading the charge, but Bradford-Scott Data Corporation also implements Illinois EMR, Kentucky EMR, Michigan EMR, and Indiana EMR.  If you're in one of those states, we want to be your EHR vendor.  To learn more information about Intergy by Sage and Sage Intergy EHR, click on the links.  Or give us a ring at 317-713-2065.

Spring

Friday, April 16, 2010 by Mike Beer
I think Spring is finally here!  After a couple of weeks of warm weather, now all of the poor allergy-ridden folks are being overcome by the yellow pollen.  The only thing we haven't had much of yet are April showers.  This Spring should be an exciting time not only for outdoor lovers, but also the medical industry.  Some of the Spring happenings should be:
  • On March 23, President Obama signed heath care reform into law.  Insurance premiums fall like rain (hopefully!)
  • Discussion period for EHR stimulus continues.  Congress looks to modify ARRA rules for meaningful use resulting in more attainable CMS incentive payments.
  • Bradford-Scott brings live an Ohio EMR client and two Indiana EMR clients on CCHIT certified Sage Intergy EHR v 5.5!
Spring is an exciting time and it's an exciting time in the health care industry.  If your office is considering implementation of electronic health records or upgrading your medical billing system, contact us!  Click to find out more information about Intergy by Sage, or you can schedule an EMR demo by replying to this blog or contacting Bradford-Scott Data Corporation at 317-713-2065.

DC

Tuesday, April 6, 2010 by Mike Beer
Spring Break, part II:  We reluctantly left NYC with a check engine light and a sputtering engine driving through Manhattan in heavy rain.  Somehow we made it out!  We drove to Baltimore so the kids could look into the window of the Ace of Cakes factory and then picked up my wife at the airport.  Next stop:  Washington, DC.

So here we were, in the nation's capital, where all of the laws are made.  For a moment I thought of health care reform, the EHR stimulus, the ARRA rules and Medicare incentives.  Then I remembered I was on vacation.

Once again we kept a pretty busy schedule, but our 14-hour New York days shrunk to 10-hour DC days.  On this trip we: visited the Capitol Building, Library of Congress, National Archives, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, ate fresh shrimp and crab dockside on the river, visited the Air & Space Museum, Washington Monument, National Museum of American History, the Holocaust Museum, ate a dinner of Spanish tapas, walked by the White House, the Old Post Office, the Cherry Blossom Festival, and the National Cathedral.

And then we drove home, past some of our Ohio EMR and Indiana EMR customers!  Don't forget, Bradford-Scott also offers Kentucky EMR, Michigan EMR, and Illinois EMR.  Want to see an EMR demo?  Click for more information about Intergy EHR by Sage.  Was my spring break over?  Well, read on in a couple days...

Cheers,
Mike

EHR on the road!

Thursday, April 1, 2010 by Carey Fulwider
This week I am heading to a Family Practice that is implementing our EHR System in Northern Indiana. This will be the practice's second day with Bradfordscott onsite for support and training.

In the last week the Family Practice Medical Office has been using the EHR system to do the following:
  • Check IN/Out Patients
  • Create a Medication List and Send E-RX
  • Document Patient Allergies
  • Using Tasking for Phone Messages
  • Document Patient Vitals
  • Record Patient Past Patient, Social, and Family History
  • Document Office Visit
The office has done very well for the first week using their new EHR system and are ready to see what else they can learn and use from the system. At Bradfordscott  we determine the most useful tools and train and implement those features first. Once the practice is doing well on those items, we move on to the next set of features.

So far the doctor has been very impressed with how easy the product is to use. She is currently using an EHR System at other locations where she treats patients and has stated how much she likes this system and is excited to see what else they can do.

When shopping an EHR system be sure to ask the Vendor how the product is implemented. It is very important to the success of the implementation that you have a plan that meets your office's needs.

March Madness

Thursday, March 18, 2010 by Mike Beer
March Madness has begun!  The 2010 NCAA Men's Basketball tournament is in full swing, and it began with an upset and two overtime games.  Usually I'm sitting in a bar watching the games but today I happen to be at work.  My enthusiasm has been dampened a bit by Purdue's recent woes.

The NCAA tournament is divided up into regions.  Bradford-Scott Data Corporation has a large region in which we provide electronic medical records and medical office billing systems.  We provide the following products in the following regions (color-coded by the teams represented by those :
  • Indiana EMR (Purdue, Butler, Notre Dame)
  • Ohio EMR (Ohio State, Ohio U, Xavier)
  • Michigan EMR (Michigan State)
  • Illinois EMR (shut out)
  • Kentucky EMR (Kentucky, Louisville, Murray State)
If your practice is located in one of the above states and you are interested in EMR adoption, give us a call at 317-713-2065 or reply to this blog.

Friday, March 5, 2010 by Carey Fulwider

Bradford-Scott is located in the Indiana in the heart of the Midwest. We are known as one of the largest Medical Software Vendor in the area. Currently Bradford-Scott Data Corp is launching a campaign to bring EMR to you.  We would love to come to your office and give an EHR Demo to display our systems capabilities as your new EHR System.

This will not only improve the efficiency in your office, but will also qualify you for the available EHR Stimulus package.

The government is forcing the industry to all move towards an EHR system. They are offering an EHR Stimulus credit to those practices that have implemented an EHR system by 2012-2015. After that they are still requiring the medical practice to move to EHR, but with no stimulus offered.

So do not be left in the cold, get your EHR demo scheduled today and let us show you our product and services available!

Weather in Indiana

Friday, February 19, 2010 by Terry Hedges

There has been a lot of belly aching about the recent snow storms that have hit the Midwest. Yes, snow storms do get old, but I remember what it was like growing up in the 70's and 80's with blizzards here in Indiana. In the more recent years our winters here in Indiana have been very mild compared with those of my childhood. And although I am in the Federal protected age group, I am not that old. I guess one thing that you can count on in Indiana is that there will be some snow storms each and every winter season.

If you are looking for other things that you can count on in Indiana, you can count on Bradford-Scott Data Corporation for excellent medical software support for Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan. We have been providing medical billing software for over 27 years now. Some other things that you can count on include;
  • A call back within 29 minutes from when you have logged your call
  • trained software and hardware support teams
  • Our dedication to client satisfaction, every year we send our clients our customer satisfaction surveys and this year you rated us as a 9.52 on a 10 point scale.
Bradford-Scott Data corporation will see you through any storm! For more information about our medical practice management software and our integrated EHR solution by Sage click the link below.

Purdue using ARRA stimulus funds to promote Health Information Technology

Friday, February 19, 2010 by Jon Jacobs

Purdue University will receive $12 million to help health-care providers adopt
and use health information technology, such as electronic medical records and e-prescribing.

Purdue is one of 32 non-profit organizations receiving funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to develop regional extension centers that will assist health professionals in selecting and implementing new information technology software.

"Electronic health records (EHR) technology has heretofore only been affordable by large practices and health-care systems, but through the federal initiative new options are being developed to enable adoption by practices of all sizes," said Dave McKinnis, director of Purdue's Technical Assistance Program.
"Purdue's expertise in health information technology puts us in a great position to help health-care providers engage and utilize these new resources and ultimately boost the health of patients throughout Indiana."

Purdue's center would help physicians and nurse practitioners at small practices across Indiana - with 10 or fewer doctors - and those aiding underserved populations and those that don't have access to the resources of the larger health-care systems and haven't yet adopted the electronic technology.

Modern health information technology, such as electronic medical records and e-prescribing, helps physicians increase the efficiency of practices and reduce the risk of errors, thus significantly improving patient care, which should be the ultimate goal of the healthcare industry.

As the largest provider of Medical Billing Software and EMR in Indiana and the five-state region,  Bradford-Scott Data Corporation offers select products such as Intergy by Sage combined with support and training in order to implement the technology and use it to its fullest potential.
